What you’ll actually be doing

Real music from the first lesson.

We start with music you actually want to play, not scales and theory drills, and build the technique you need to play it well along the way. Classical, jazz, pop, whatever pulls you to the bench.

Lessons move at an adult’s pace: efficient, conversational, and built around a life that already has a job and a calendar. You’ll leave the first lesson with something you can sit down and play.

Who this is for

Beginners, returners, and everyone who thinks they missed their chance.

The most common student here is an adult, often a complete beginner or someone coming back after a long break. There’s no upper age limit and no prerequisite.

Lessons are private, 50 minutes, Monday through Thursday, 3 to 9pm. Pricing runs from a single lesson ($125) up to the Semester Pack ($1,600 for 16); the most common starting point is the 4-Lesson Pack at $450.

Taught by Nick Olynciw, a working Chicago musician, in a real instrument-filled studio. The $25 trial is the easiest way to see if it’s a fit.

Common questions

Quick answers about adult piano lessons.

Am I too old to start piano?

No. Adults learn piano very well, often faster than kids, because you bring focus and clear goals. Plenty of students here started in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

I took lessons as a kid and quit. Can I come back?

Yes, returners are one of the most common students here. It usually comes back faster than you’d expect.

What do lessons cost?

A 30-minute piano trial is $25. After that, a 50-minute lesson is $125, with packs lowering the rate to as little as $100 per lesson. Credits are valid one year.
