Getting from the West Loop to the studio

Ten minutes north, against traffic.

The studio sits at Erie & Hoyne in Ukrainian Village. Full address and door instructions go out by email after your trial or first lesson is booked — or email Nick if you want directions first.

Driving

7–10 minutes up Damen, Ashland, or Ogden from Fulton Market — you’re moving against rush hour the whole way. Free street parking on Hoyne and Erie.

Bus

The 65 Grand bus from River West, or the 9 Ashland north to Chicago Ave and a short walk west.

Rideshare

A $10–12 ride from most of the West Loop. Some students treat it as the decompression buffer between work and the piano.

L

Morgan (Green/Pink) to the Loop → Blue Line to Division also works, but honestly — drive or ride.

Who books lessons from the West Loop

Built for the after-work student.

West Loop students are almost all career professionals — consultants, engineers, people in Fulton Market offices who want one hour a week that has nothing to do with a screen. The 6–9pm slots exist for them: a real lesson with a working musician, then home before dinner gets cold.

Lessons are private — one student, one teacher, 50 minutes per session. Pricing runs from a single lesson ($125) up to the Semester Pack ($1,600 for 16), which locks your weekly evening slot for the whole term — the thing West Loop calendars actually need. Most start with the 4-Lesson Pack at $450.

The easiest first step for piano is the $25 trial lesson — thirty minutes, booked online in two minutes. For voice, start with a free 15-minute intro call between meetings.

Common questions

Quick answers for West Loop students.

Can I make a 6pm lesson after work?

That’s the design. From Fulton Market it’s 7–10 minutes by car against rush-hour traffic, or a $10–12 rideshare. Leave at 5:30, play at 6:00, home by 7:15.

Do you teach adult beginners?

Yes, adult beginners are the studio’s most common student. Lessons are built around the music you actually want to play from the first session, whether you’ve never touched a key or you’re coming back after years away.

What do lessons cost?

A 30-minute piano trial is $25. After that, a single 50-minute lesson is $125, and packs bring the rate down: $112.50 per lesson in the 4-pack, $106.25 in the 8-pack, and $100 in the 16-lesson Semester Pack. All pack credits are valid one year from purchase.

★★★★★
“Nicholas was my daughter’s voice teacher… For her, this meant audition preparation for musical theatre and choir, but also allowing her to celebrate her love of Taylor Swift. He’s very perceptive at quickly getting to know a student as a unique individual.”
